ELEELE, KAUAI, HAWAII - Rare & Dear, Inc. has promoted Richard Sherman to managing director, technical services. His most recent position with the company has been as director, application development. Sherman's new responsibilities include managing Oracle development projects and developing applications with teams of developers across a wide range of industries. Sherman, who holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech University, began his career as an engineer at RCA Semiconductor Division in New Jersey in 1981.
One of the founders of Rare & Dear, Sherman has more than 15 years of experience in the computer industry, including technical management, project management, design, development, and deployment of computer and application systems. "Rich's go-for-it attitude and ability to hold the broad vision while simultaneously focusing on the project details and being conscious of time and schedule translates into effective results for our clients," says Ned Dana, chief technical officer. Sherman is a member of the American Management Association, International Oracle Users Group, Hawaii Oracle Users Group, Oracle Technology Network, and Frank Lloyd Wright Society.
