Hawaii-based, software development consulting company, Rare &
Dear, has been named a partner to help market Oracle's new data
warehouse offering, Data Mart Suite. The Data Mart Suite contains
tools to facilitate Designing, Building, Populating, Using and
Managing a Data Mart or small Data Warehouse. Rare & Dear is the
only Oracle Partner in the state of Hawaii and the Pacific Rim
authorized to distribute this integrated set of products and services.
A Data Warehouse combines data from multiple different internal
or external sources into a single database to facilitate viewing
of summaries, comparisons, trends, or exceptions. The objective
of a data warehousing system is to enable an end user to make
better informed business decisions by providing them with easy
access to integrated, consistent, accurate and timely information
that is stored in a Data Warehouse. Superior business decisions
have the potential to have a far greater impact on an organization's
current and future bottom line than could ever be achieved with
earlier data processing applications. Data Warehousing empowers
decision makers by leveraging legacy data, client/server technologies,
and emerging trends in parallel processing architecture and internet
technologies.
Rare & Dear was founded in 1994 by Ned Dana, president and principal
consultant, who has more than 20 years of experience in the computer
industry. Rare & Dear's relationship with Oracle goes back to
1981 when Dana was hired by Oracle (employee # 17) as senior technical
staff on the development team creating the first portable database
administration system for the company.
