Rare & Dear, Inc., an information management consulting company, recently appointed
Kaya Alpan to their consulting team. Alpan brings to Rare & Dear extensive
international experience in finance, management, and information technology.
His responsibilities include the design and development of custom applications for
information systems based on Oracle technology.
Prior to joining Rare & Dear, Alpan was a senior analyst/programmer with Global
Securities, Inc. IT in Istanbul, Turkey, where he analyzed, designed and developed
parts of a large-scale financial application. He also served as a sales assistant
with QuickTech AB in Lund, Sweden; division manager with Globe-Strat, Inc. in
Hicksville, New York; assistant manager for shipping company Geden Line
(Cukurova Group) in Istanbul; and management associate with Citibank, NA in
Istanbul. He also trained with various companies, including Shearson Lehman Hutton,
Inc. and Venture Communications International, Inc.
Alpan, a native of Turkey, earned a master of business administration in finance
from C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University; and a bachelor's degree in
mechanical engineering from Bogazici University in Istanbul. He also studied
computer science and informatics at Lund University in Lund, Sweden.
